At Temple Beth Sholom, we encourage members to participate in services. The Ritual Committee, working with the Rabbi, has established some specific portions of the Shabbat services in which a member can directly participate. The various areas in which a member may participate include:
Leading English or Hebrew readings of prayers.
Reading a section of the Torah portion (on Saturdays only). There is some free training involved to learn the trope and the proper pronunciation.
Reading the Haftorah (also on Saturdays).
Deliver a Drash about the Haftorah.
